Chevrolet Silverado 1500 gets GVM and Trim Upgrade for MY26i

2026-07-17

PORT MELBOURNE, Australia - General Motors Specialty Vehicles (GMSV) has announced an update to the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 range for MY26i, with the move from NA to NB1 certification delivering a Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) increase from 3,300kg to 3,505kg, and higher payload capacity for customers from 1 August 2026 local re-manufacturing production.

For MY26i, maximum payload increases to 942kg for Silverado 1500 LTZ Premium, and 922kg for Silverado 1500 ZR2, strengthening Silverado’s appeal for customers who tow, tour, and work hard.

MY26i also introduces new standard black-out accessory content fitted during local right-hand-drive re-manufacturing. Silverado 1500 LTZ Premium gains a Black Lettering Kit, Black Chevrolet tailgate lettering, Black front bow tie badge, and Black Z71 fender badges, while Silverado 1500 ZR2 adds Black Chevrolet tailgate lettering as standard.

Silverado has earned its place with customers by combining serious V8 performance, towing confidence, premium comfort and genuine off-road capability, and the MY26i update strengthens that formula again, said Jess Bala, Managing Director, GM Australia & New Zealand.

The Silverado 1500 LTZ Premium continues as the go-to towing tourer in the line-up, pairing its 6.2-litre V8 engine and 10-speed automatic transmission with a premium interior, advanced trailering technology, Bose Premium Sound System, power sunroof, and a broad mix of comfort, style and capability features.

As part of the MY26i update, the LTZ Premium suspension system has also been revised, with previous Z71 Off-road Suspension with Rancho shocks branding replaced by Off-road Suspension with Twin Tube Dampers.

Updated MY26i pricing represents a $1,000 increase for both Silverado 1500 LTZ Premium and Silverado 1500 ZR2, with revised recommended retail pricing now confirmed for Australia and New Zealand.
