February 24, 2025 - The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ has been named the first-ever winner in the Best Dual-Cab Ute under $150k category in the 2025 DRIVE Car Of The Year Awards.

One of Australia’s oldest and most prestigious automotive awards, DRIVE Car Of The Year is celebrating its 20th year in 2025, with this year’s judging introducing the new Best Dual-Cab Ute under $150k for the very first time.

The new category takes in the larger pickup trucks currently driving a remanufacturing boom in Australia, with the impressive Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ beating all comers to take the top prize.

At the conclusion of the outlet’s rigorous testing schedule, DRIVE’s panel of expert judges said the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ “set the standard for the segment”.

The judging panel named three core highlights that saw the Silverado 1500 LTZ top the segment, which include:

“Exceptional driveline in terms of both efficiency and refinement”

“Undercuts new entrants and punches above its weight in value for money”

“Cabin comfort and technology set the standard for the segment”

Blending comfort and refinement with incredible capability, the Chevrolet Silverado LTZ Premium is equipped with a potent 6.2L EcoTec3 V8 engine producing 313kW and 624Nm, offers a 4.5-tonne braked towing capacity, and features Chevrolet’s Z71 4x4 off-road pack with automatic rear locking — delivering owners the power and capability they need to tow anything, carry everyone, and to explore the farthest reaches of Australia.
